The very first love of my life was a big old tomcat named Hiball. He was a stray I dragged
in off the street, and he became our family protector and my best friend. Each night before
bedtime, he'd make his rounds and check on me and my sisters one at a time. Once he
knew we were okay, he'd hop out the window and do his nightly kitty rounds, then return
to check on us in the morning.
My dad used to sing a song to me about Hiball the Gnat who visited this guy in prison
and became his best & only friend, kept him from being lonely, helped him through hard
times... and my Hiball, my best buddy, was named after the Gnat. :-) Hiball certainly
helped to create a lifelong love in me for all creatures, great and small.
Years and years later, when I was out on my own and decided to get a purebred cat, it
was a Himalayan. And once you've had one, you're just in love with the breed forever!
And I am!
For the last few years, I've been raising Mastiffs. All the while, I've been nagging my
husband for kitties! And the moment he said yes, I had my three himmies within a week!
Three days later, my husband was also in love with the Himalayan!
We purchased Puddin', Princess, and Dutches from a lovely lady named Candace, and
thus Tennessee Persians Cattery began.
I always raised all my Mastiff puppies in my home with the best loving care that they
could ever hope to receive, and I promise to raise our kittens the same way!
I am always researching Himalayans and trying to stay up on everything we need to
know, and I will share that information via this site and gladly answer any questions
that I can!
I look forward to meeting you all! Please feel free to email me any time if you have
questions or are interested in one of our kittens.
Thank you!
Darlene
